Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This bill requires the owner of any business that sells alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption to report to the Revenue Commissioner any violent incidents (i.e., sexual offenses, assault, battery, theft, robbery and any criminal act involving a knife or handgun) that occur on or adjacent to their property or parking area.  Law enforcement is required to notify the business of any investigation within 48 hours so that the business can report the incident to the Revenue Commissioner.
